Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

Synopsis from Goodreads

WARNING! This review contains mature subject matter. Intended for ages 18+.

I loved this book. In a guilty kind of way. Like porn. (Honestly, I'm not a fan of porn, but you know what I mean.) Most people watch porn in private, and that's exactly what I had to do with this book. I couldn't have read it on a bus, or sitting on a park bench. Because everyone would KNOW what I was reading!! And that I was ENJOYING IT!! *GASP* I must have turned ten shades of red through some scenes!

Now, I can't say that I loved every page of it. It is graphic, and hard to read in places, but it needs to be. It is everything it needs to be. It is well written, with the perfect balance of characters. It is also dark and enticing. But it also needs to be rough and gritty and violent. It is more real than anything I've ever read. It shines a giant spotlight on a world that exists beneath our own; a world of darkness and shadows, lies and secrets.

Will everyone like this book? No. In fact, there are many people who shouldn't even try to read this book. Just like I know I shouldn't read 50 shades (because I would probably barf), you will know in your gut if you can't handle this. I knew exactly what I was getting into when I picked this up, and I was prepared. I kept an open mind, and was not disappointed. I was rewarded with an amazing story. I refuse to rehash the plot for you in this review. I don't even want to tell you about the characters. It should be your own adventure, public or private, to explore a dark part of yourself. My own adventure doesn't end here. There is no doubt that I will delve into the sequel to see where this story ends.
