Death in the Shadows (In Darkness We Must Abide #2)
Death has claimed a Socoli, but the family curse will not allow him to stay dead. Vanora and Alisha must battle the creature that stole their brother's life while fearing the possible resurrection of Roman.

In Darkness We Must Abide is the epic saga of one young woman caught in the dangerous world of the creatures of the night.

Already living in the shadows due to her albinism, Vanora is just a little girl when her older brother inadvertently unleashes a terrible evil from the family crypt that changes their lives forever.

As she grows up in a world where beautiful deadly beings hunt by night, one captures her eye and her heart. Yet, can she trust the mysterious Armando? For there is a powerful entity plotting to claim her when she reaches adulthood in order to fulfill an ancient prophecy, and her enemy has enveloped her in a web of deceit, casting doubt on all she believes to be true. Soon, she will have to fight not only to save those she loves, but also for her very soul.
Synopsis from Goodreads

The series is moving right along, and I am loving every minute of it!

I haven't had the opportunity to read many serials like this, and it's amazing how difficult it is to wait for the new episode. I need them all NOW!! I want to devour them all as quickly as possible!

The theme of this episode seems to be change. Vanora's life is being twisted and turned upside down. I love how strong she is, taking each blow in stride, her lighthearted innocence remaining intact. I would like to believe that I would be as strong as she is, but in truth, if I were in her situation, I would sleep in a tub filled with holy water and get crosses tattooed all over my body.

You may be wondering what kind of situation she might be in? Then I suggest going to pick up episode one, Death Comes home, as well as episode 2. You won't be disappointed.

 Warning: May contain minor spoilers

All good things must come to an end... but does all change have to be bad?
Vanora's life is going through all kinds of changes, but strangely enough, Vanora herself is largely the same. She has proven herself to be amazingly resilient. So what will her life be like now?

I'm hoping that she will find a way to make her life work, with a little bit of help from those around her. Maybe... just, maybe... she'll be happy and live out her life in harmony with the night.

But, no. That would make for a lousy story. I desperately want to blurt out my predictions, but that would be cruel to those of you who haven't read the story yet. I don't want to spoil anything!
Otherwise, I'm still waiting, with extreme impatience, for a certain dark and sexy mystery man to make a reappearance, and I'm sure he will be bringing a whole storm of trouble with him. And while I have no doubt that Roman and Alisha love Vanora dearly, I don't know that they will be able to provide her with everything she needs. In fact, they will more than likely be everything she doesn't need.
