Blurb: Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally. Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.
Our Thoughts
The Plot:
Lori: I'm not a huge critic when it comes to the plot. As long as the book makes sense, flows and entertains me that's usually enough. However, I found the plot to be much smoother and stronger than it was for Immortal Rules. Kagawa has always grown as a writer throughout her series and this book is no exception to that. I felt the Immortal Rules to be a bit slow, and pointless at times. Not the case with the Eternity Cure. She rocked this book out of the ballpark
Lindsay:
I'm leaning a little in the other direction. Although the plot was slower in IR, I felt that it had more of a creep factor, more foreshadowing. There was this constant threat that the rabids could pop out from under their feet at any time, or that Allison would eat Zeke. I almost felt like the plot of EC felt a little scattered. Like there are a lot of tiny little pieces flying around, and we just have to wait for them to collide. Definitely exciting though. No complaints there.
The Characters:
Lori: Wow, like all things Kagawa she writes amazing characters. Allie the street rat, turned vampire is so amazing as an MC. I love seeing her kick @$$ and I love her softer moments as well. Jackyll, is the character that grows on me the most during this book. He's still a bastard, but he's no longer a 2D bastard.
Zeke: *sigh*. I don't think I was completely sold on Zeke in the first book. He was a bit too goody goody for me. But this Zeke has some real grime and grit. Awesome stuff.
Lindsay: I agree about Allie. She makes a pretty awesome MC. What bugged me about her in this sequel is that she didn't battle with her humanity as much. It all came too easy in the long run. Yes, she is constantly telling us that she's struggling with it, but I just didn't feel it.
She makes up for it in kick-buttedness (Yup, it's a word). Give that girl a katana blade, and nothing can get in her way. Not rabids, not bleeders, and not even evil scarred psycho vamps.
Zeke: I liked him more in the first book. I do like the gritty aspect to him, but he's still as self-sacrificing as ever. He doesn't seem concerned enough about his own life, and is WAY too trusting!
Jackal is so very much my favourite character. Seriously. He stole every scene. I wish I could hate him, but he lightens the bad moods, and darkens the mushy romantic scenes. He brings sarcastic balance.
"Well, I have good news and bad news," he announced. "The good news is that the jeep is still where we left it, and I got the damned thing working again."
"What's the bad news?" I asked.
"Something took my fuzzy dice."

Everything else:
Lori: I loved this book. When I finished it I was hovering between a 4.5 to 5 stars for it, but I think in the end it fully deserves 5 stars. Allie is so kickass. There is so much bloody awesome action and I literally could/would marry Zeke if that was possible. This book was just. Ah.Maz.Ing. If you are a fan of Kagawa's other works then be sure to continue this series. It is just. Yep. It's that.
Lindsay: While I can't quite join Lori's AllieZekeLoveFest, the book is a solid four stars. Constantly thrilling, always entertaining, I am left wanting more. Highly recommend.
Lori: Dude, you know I am shallow like that!

I'm glad you both enjoyed this one! I really liked it as well and had to take a day or two decide what rating to give it.
