Sometimes the one who broke your heart is the one who needs saving the most.
Piper Sandervale never thought she’d ever see Sasha Koval again, not since he'd taken her heart, ripped it out and obliterated it. Now six years have passed, and she has run into him once more at the local fairgrounds in Las Vegas. He desperately wants another chance, and he’s willing to do anything to get her back. She’s not willing to give him anything but a taste of his own medicine, and this may be her chance for payback. But is she only getting in way over her head?
Even as she plots her revenge, Piper discovers that something has changed with Sasha, and she finds herself struggling to justify holding on to past hurts as he continues his quest for atonement.
Who needs saving now?
Lori's Review:
Piper and Sasha fell in love, then Sasha acted like a guy and let the girl go. Now Piper has had to deal with a broken heart all of these years. When she runs into Sasha again after years apart she hatches a plan to make him feel and hurt like she did. But can she go through with it? Or will she fall for him again?
4.5 stars, because I never wanted it to end, and it did!
Alexia did it again. She wove her magic and wrote a gripping story that I couldn't get out of my head. I was literally reading other review books, and wishing I was reading this one instead.
This is a sweet contemp story. It was refreshing, sexy and an emotional read. It wasn't dirty, I didn't feel like I needed to take a shower after reading it. It was simply a love story.
Piper was a character that I could relate to on a base level, but the amount of loss that Alexia poured on to her made her pain more real, and a bit out of touch for me. But that's okay because it showcased her strength perfectly. I'm so grateful for all the awesome female leads that Alexia gives us! There is not a bad one in the bunch!
Sasha was a great male lead, he was a responsible father, who made a mistakes along the way. Just like any real human and parent. And he was yummy. I forgot to mention that. He was definitely yummy without being a douche. Awesome!! I am so happy about this!
This is how I do happy. Intensely. |
I was worried that I wouldn't love this book as much as her other works, only because Alexia's writing really shines through her action scenes, but the girl can write. Anything!
